ClientflowClientflow×MobilePay

MobilePay on your Clientflow invoices

When Clientflow sends the invoice, it carries a Pay now button. Switch MobilePay on and it sits right there alongside card, Apple Pay and Google Pay — and the customer settles in seconds from the app they already have. MobilePay isn't an integration you connect: it's a payment method you switch on top of Clientflow's payment setup.

What you get from it

MobilePay is the Danish market. When customers can pay from the app already on their phone, the wait for payment drops from days to minutes.

One tap — no account details

The customer enters no account number, registration number or FI-code. MobilePay pulls it all from their phone profile. That removes the classic 'I'll pay later' friction.

MobilePay next to card on the payment page

The Pay now button on the invoice opens Stripe's secure payment page. With MobilePay switched on, it appears there as a payment method alongside card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The customer chooses.

Booked along with everything else

A MobilePay payment is booked by Stripe reconciliation exactly the way a card payment is — same accounts, same automation, in Dinero, e-conomic or Billy.

You switch it on — Stripe activates it

MobilePay is an add-on with a fixed monthly price at Stripe and a slightly higher per-transaction price than card. You switch it on inside Clientflow, and Stripe activates it afterwards. That isn't instant, and the status is shown on the card while you wait.

How it works for the customer

You do nothing differently when the job is done. MobilePay is simply one of the payment methods the customer can pick.

1. The job completes and the invoice goes out

The field employee marks the job as done in the mobile app. Clientflow creates the invoice in your accounting system and sends it to the customer with a link to the invoice.

2. The customer taps Pay now

The link opens the invoice, where the customer can view it — and pay it. The Pay now button leads on to Stripe's secure payment page.

3. The customer picks MobilePay

If MobilePay is active on your account, it sits there as a payment method next to card. The customer approves in the MobilePay app and the payment is done. The invoice can only be paid once, so nobody risks paying twice.

4. The payment is booked and paid out

The payment is booked automatically against the invoice in Dinero, e-conomic or Billy via Stripe reconciliation, and the money is paid out to your own bank account on Stripe's regular payout schedule.

MobilePay switches on top of the payment setup

MobilePay doesn't stand alone. It assumes Clientflow's Stripe payment setup is already in place — those steps live on the Stripe page and in the help centre, and we don't repeat them here.

  1. 1

    1. Set payments up first

Connect your accounting system, let Clientflow send the invoices, enable payments, and fill in Stripe reconciliation. That's the whole setup behind the Pay now button — see the Stripe integration for the four steps.

  2. 2

    2. Switch MobilePay on

Tick Also offer MobilePay while you create the Stripe account — or use the Offer MobilePay switch in the MobilePay card under Settings → Accounting → Payments afterwards. Clientflow shows the price before you confirm.

  3. 3

    3. Wait for Stripe to activate it

Stripe has to activate MobilePay on your account, and that isn't instant — Stripe may ask for further verification first. While it's outstanding, the card shows Awaiting activation at Stripe. Only after that do your customers see MobilePay.

  4. 4

    4. Pick an account for the subscription

The monthly MobilePay subscription is deducted from your Stripe balance. Choose MobilePay subscription account (optional) under Stripe reconciliation so the fee is booked too — otherwise your clearing account won't balance to zero.

FAQ about MobilePay in Clientflow

Do I need to set anything up with MobilePay?
No. You don't connect MobilePay to Clientflow, and there's no MobilePay agreement to enter. MobilePay is a payment method on top of Clientflow's own payment setup with Stripe — you switch it on inside Clientflow.
What does it take before my customers see MobilePay?
Four things, and all of them have to be in place: Clientflow sending the invoices, payments being active, you switching MobilePay on, and Stripe activating it on your account. That last one isn't instant. The whole chain is covered in the help centre's payments guide.
Does MobilePay cost extra?
Yes. MobilePay costs a fixed monthly subscription at Stripe plus slightly more per transaction than card. The amount is deducted from your Stripe balance, and Clientflow shows the price before you confirm. That's why MobilePay isn't on by default — it's your call.
Can a subscription be charged automatically via MobilePay?
No. The automatic charge when a job completes runs on a saved payment card. MobilePay is for when the customer pays the invoice themselves. If you want recurring work to pay for itself, it's a card on file you need.
Does the customer need MobilePay to be able to pay?
No. MobilePay sits alongside card, Apple Pay and Google Pay on the payment page, and the customer chooses. If they don't have MobilePay they simply pay by card — no route closes off.
What happens if I switch MobilePay off again?
MobilePay is no longer offered on new payments. Payment links already sent and not yet paid are unaffected — they still offer MobilePay.
Which accounting systems does it work with?
Dinero, e-conomic and Billy. MobilePay payments are booked by Stripe reconciliation the same way card payments are, so there's nothing separate to set up per payment method.
