Frequently asked questions about GPS and fleet management

How does GPS tracking work?
Tracking happens via the mobile app on the crew member's phone — we don't install a separate GPS box in the vehicle. When a crew member is checked into a work shift, the app sends position every minute. When they check out, tracking stops.
Is it legal to GPS-track crew in Denmark?
Yes, when it's for a legitimate business purpose, the crew is informed in writing, and the data is only used for the stated purpose. We follow the Danish DPA guidelines: tracking only during work hours, never on breaks, and crew can view their own data. We provide a standard notice for employers.
Are crew tracked off-hours?
No. Tracking starts when the crew member checks into a work shift and stops when they check out. Lunch breaks and off-hours are excluded — the app sends no position during those periods.
Where is data stored?
All GPS data is stored on our EU servers (Frankfurt), processed under GDPR, and auto-deleted after 90 days unless you buy extended history. We sign a data processing agreement with you.
What happens when crew loses signal?
The app stores positions locally on the phone and uploads as soon as signal returns. You don't lose history — it just arrives slightly delayed. On the map, the crew shows as 'last seen at 14:32' until the next update.
